Ο Χαράλαμπος Γναρδέλλης αποφοίτησε από το Μαθηματικό Τμήμα του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης το 1981.
Συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο Πανεπιστήμιο Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris VI, απ’ όπου πήρε το μεταπτυχιακό του δίπλωμα (DEA) και τη διδακτορική του διατριβή στη Στατιστική (1985).
Εργάστηκε επί πολλά χρόνια ως κύριος στατιστικός σε διεθνείς πολυκεντρικές μελέτες, δημοσιεύοντας έναν σημαντικό αριθμό εργασιών στην αγγλική, γαλλική και ελληνική γλώσσα.
Τα επιστημονικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζουν στη χρήση αναλυτικών μεθόδων στη Βιοστατιστική.
