Photo Academic ID

The required documentation and application deadline for all Greek Universities are decided upon the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs which are then notified to the Departmental Registry at the beginning of September of each Academic year.

Students of all three levels of study in all Universities can apply electronically for their Academic ID at:

http://academicid.minedu.gov.gr

Especially for freshmen, the application should be submitted after their application has been completed and aright after they have received their user name and password for access to the online services of their University. The ID will be valid for all consecutive years of study but also held a number of privileges i.e reduced fares in public transport media.  If the student is entitled to reduce fares the Academic ID card will specify the period of entitlement elsewhere the card will be used for simple identification purposes.

The student’s application for their Academic ID are approved electronically by authorized personnel of the academic registry of the corresponding Department. However, should the Registry come across a faulty application, the application will be returned to the student with instructions for correction and resubmission. Each student will be able to pick up their ID card at their preferred point of delivery with no additional charges.

In case of losing or damaging their ID card, the students may apply for re-issuing at the Departmental Registry office while also submitting an adequate certificate of loss issued by the appropriate public Authority. In this case, the students will take on any replacement cost.

If their student capacity is suspended they should hand in their IDs to the Secretariat who will cancel and destroy it.
